There are some things in life that I have tried to do but kept quiet about my attempts when I was trying. One of those things was applying to be a Tough Mudder Brand Ambassador.
I knew NUMEROUS fellow Mudders who posted and talked about filling out the application. And I thought to myself over and over again ‘Oh, they’ll be an awesome Ambassador’ or ‘They will get it for sure!’ But I didn’t want to fill out that application because I didn’t want to be on the receiving end of a ‘Thanks, but no thanks’ email.
So I waited. And waited. And waited a bit longer.
But I couldn’t help but to think about how much I love the Tough Mudder Brand and the community and people that I’ve met over the course of the past years.
I also thought about the ambassadors that I’ve met on course this year, especially the ones that encouraged me to get even more involved in the community.
And when thinking of them I realized something. I realized that I want to be that person for someone.
I want to be someone who encourages people to not only challenge themselves, but to also challenge others to do the same.
So I filled out that application. And I waited. And waited. And waited a bit longer.
And then it happened! I received and email telling me that I was selected as an Ambassador! My excitement knew no limits in that moment.
And I think about all the goals I have for the coming year, all the events I want to participate in, and all the people I plan on meeting and I realize that it’s going to be an amazing year.
